Another Friday - and I'm shattered already!

It has been an odd sort of week this week. I don’t know whether it’s because I finally finished my Romance Novel – or because of other things, but I have spent much of this week feeling absolutely drained. It doesn’t help that I have so many games on my computer (laptop) that I end up playing games; rather than actually sitting down and doing any writing – even if it is Speech-to-Text Software. I mean I would have thought that actually ‘speaking’ my novel would make things far easier than they have actually proved. Don’t get me wrong, I have really enjoyed using the Speech-to-text Software – and the book I ordered, which I mentioned in a previous Blog has proved invaluable. But I still sit in front of a computer screen and sometimes stare off into the middle distance in the hope that inspiration will suddenly lance its way from the heavens and strike me on the top of the head like a bolt of lightning. (Naturally this doesn’t happen.)

Kerry, my Acupuncturist, has suggested that I may suffer from CFS – or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which would certainly fit some of the symptoms, although I’ve not got much positive feedback from my doctor, and I know I should be more proactive and seriously think about making an appointment with another doctor but I just haven’t got the energy. This of course is, as Kerry points out, one of the major symptoms of CFS, that to use a well-known phrase ‘the spirit is willing; but the flesh is weak.’ Personally I always preferred, The sun is shining; but the ice is slippery.’ As you might have gathered, I’m a great fan of The Shadow – both the comic and the film. I wanted to write so much more this week, to actually say that I was writing more, that I was doing more, that I actually felt like I had beaten the Game Fiend and I was writing as opposed to playing games. I am sorry to say that this hasn’t happened, I have either spent pretty much all day bed; all when I have got up I’ve immediately hit either Plants vs. Zombies – or Train Empire. Edwin has, quite rightly, forbidden me to load any games on the main computer and maybe it’s about time if I wanted to do some writing, I actually went and did it on that computer because my laptop is slowly dying. Well there’s not much more news from my neck of the woods, hopefully by next Friday things will have improved, (one way or another.) As Ace Rimmer used to say ‘Smoke me a kipper; I’ll be back for the breakfast!’
