Scintillating Saturday

Yes, I know that I’m a day late. Yesterday just ran away with me. Sunday was a really good day. Mum had seen a car online and we went up to Birmingham to take a look at it – I think we all knew that Mum would pick it. From what I’ve seen it’s a great car. (See photo below.) I know in an ideal world we would have been able to afford a brand-new Range Rover, but unfortunately, we live in a dystopia, rather than a utopia.

My Creative Writing Group went really well. I read them the first 900 words of my Romance novel – some of you have seen my cover photo – and to my surprise, they were really impressed. I am trying to work on the last few thousand words to finish up the novel – and a few people I’ve written to have expressed an interest in reading the book once it’s finished. Even my Creative Writing Group seemed interested – which was bloody amazing. I am staying at my Mum’s for about 10 days because I’m on holiday from my Creative Writing Group until the end of April. I’m supposed to be helping with the first presentation when we get back – all about self-publishing. My own experiences have been a bit hit and miss actually. When I first published my fantasy novel it all went horribly wrong. I suppose I could try again, and do it right this time, but I still don’t quite know what I did wrong. So there’s that too. Maybe I should if only to actually give it my best shot. As people always say – it isn’t what you do that you regret – it’s what you don’t do. And jumping in with both feet with little knowledge – which is what I did – is not always helpful. Coupled with this is the fact that I thought that all I had to do was write my book, get it up on Amazon or Lulu.com and the sales would pour in. Obviously, that didn’t happen. And although my learning curve was more of a vertical line, I at least tried to give it my best shot. I’ll let you know how my other projects work out.
