I had planned to go out Tuesday evening to City Voices – I used to go quite a lot of the time, but with this Chronic Fatigue I simply haven’t got the energy. I get home, Edwin does me a cup of tea and usually a snack and as soon as I sit and start watching a television programme I’m unconscious. It’s annoying in one sense because it impinges on everything; I can’t for example come home and do some work in the afternoon because I’m absolutely shattered – and yes, it annoys the living hell out of me. If I get up early in the morning to do some work, I’m completely exhausted by 3:00 pm which means that if I go to bed then I can sleep for the next 7-8 hours; my internal (and sometimes external) clock is shot to hell. I go out for two hours, get back and I’m completely exhausted. However I have rambled about this enough so I shall now stop whinging.

As I have written before I’m typing this on my new(ish) Neo Alpha Smart – I hesitate to call it a typewriter because it isn’t, it’s a sort of word processor. This device is proving quite useful because I cannot play games on it – and my laptop can be the biggest temptation to do anything other than writing. The only useful thing my laptop has that this Alpha Smart doesn’t is Speech-to-Text software. Now as I have written before, I adore Speech-to-Text software, admittedly it often has a few glitches and doesn’t always hear the right words, but it could also be that I’m speaking too quickly. But even then it can cause problems, sometimes it won’t hear certain words and it can’t distinguish between to, two and too so you still have to go through your work to check that it scans. I haven’t used this Alpha Smart very much at the moment, and as I said in last week’s Blog, it is slightly different from my Neo – and I miss that. On the plus side, it means that I can write without distractions. Of course I say that, but it is never quite that simple, there are always distractions from my laptop; from the numerous games I have on there: to downloaded videos from YouTube; to various webpages that I could surf all day. So you see my problem. I have the backbone of a meringue. Of course I’ve just remembered that it’s Comic Relief tonight and I shall be donating something to it, I donate every year, but I see no reason to boast about it. That’s about it for this week’s Blog. I shall attempt to write more next

week.
