Going up to Mum's today....

I made a (semi-) New Year's Resolution to write a Blog entry every Friday, unfortunately, my body, mind [and sometimes the Internet connection at my parents'] has made this an impossibility. Sometimes I sit in front of my laptop and know that I have to write a Blog today - and I have news - you know, I've had a poem published; or my novel's coming along really well and I know how to resolve certain plot points, but my body and mind say 'Nope. Not happening.' And it gets worse, because I think, I'll just go and sit in bed and do some scribbling. Only that doesn't happen either because again my mind just won't engage. Now I know that this is part of my CFS {Chronic Fatigue Syndrome} where everything just becomes too much, but just on occasion I could live without it. I suppose I should be grateful that I can at least do some things; but this feeling of just 'Bleurggh' is pretty much overwhelming. It's so bad that I actually know that I have to do things, but the thought of getting up and actually doing them - well I'd rather have one of my digits removed. Without anaesthetic. It feels like I'm being sucked into a black hole.

Well, now I've had my rant, this is this week's Blog - for what it's worth. There's not really a great deal more news - I have to decide what to pack - one of the few times I could definitely do with someone coming in and packing for me. (And that's likely to happen in the next hour! Yes, that was sarcasm for those of you who don't know.) Plus our cat - Dotty - absolutely adores my case - strangely enough, so does my Mum's cat, Percy. I don't know whether it's the colour, the texture or the material but they absolutely love it. Which can be a little disconcerting when I have to get into my case to pack it. The look of utter disgust that these felines bestow on me is quite amusing - although I freely admit that both Edwin & I are in thrall to a pair (or perhaps even a trio) of felines. The third is Louis (although it should really be Louise since it's female) who comes in to fill her face; hisses at the door once she's finished and then leaves. Tabby (or Cocoa/Coco) comes in, eats her fill - and finishes off Dotty's and then slopes off somewhere to sleep. Tabby has now been fitted with a collar - which she hates - with her name and details on it and still comes round to ours for food and cuddles. Go figure. Anyway, that's about all I can write for now, there's not really a great deal more news. I hope to go up to Birmingham on Monday have a mooch around the Museum. I need some culture. The invitation to meet is still open for anyone nearby. Catch you all sometime next week.
