It's my Birthday! And I don't need to cry...

Had a very lazy day today. Did sweet FA - but then I think you should have at least one day when you don't do anything and Birthdays seem to be the optimum time. Got a wonderful present from a friend of mine - who always sends me beautiful booklets and I know that I shall have to start reciprocating when his birthday comes around. I also got two books (suprise, suprise for those people who know me, know that books are like a lifeline.) I also got a pencil extender - which sounds like something fake, but it means that all these stubs of pencils can be used in their entirety. The Tom Shippey book 'Laughing Shall I Die' about the death of Ragnar Lothbrok - and other Vikings and the one I've just started, Mark Kurlansky - Paper: Paging Through History. Now that may not be the correct title, but it's a book I've wanted for ages so getting it for my birthday was marvellous! It was also lovely that I got so many birthday greetings on Facebook (which was also very nice!)

So what else? Well not a great deal actually. Back to the real world tomorrow. I've got a bit of work to and then perhaps get on with some writing. Proofreading is fun and interesting, but
not half as interesting as writing my own stories and creating my own characters - and I seem to have lost the impetus to write properly since my Father's death. I'm hoping that it will trickle back in the next few weeks, it better do something or I shall scream. As I wrote, my Fan Fiction - great. Original fiction, not so much. And the poetry; quite dark in places. So, original writing has really taken a back seat. I'm hoping that soon it will come back. I keep promising
myself that things will get better. I just haven't noticed it yet.
