And it's Friday....again

Can't believe that it's February! It seems that January's zipped by without a break. In one sense it has of course. Some of my writing has gone really, really well, and some of it seems to be going nowhere. But I suppose with the kind of year I've had, a part of that is to be expected. It's Edwin's birthday tomorrow and although I asked him 2 weeks ago what he wanted, he never did give me a straight answer, and I started to make him another pair of socks (either for bed or for his wellingtons) but other things got in the way - like my Fan Fiction writing. I finally finished my major work which I'm fairly pleased with, I just hope that it's not a Mary Sue story. I try to include strong women in my stories because I think there's a dearth of brave, smart, cunning (in the sense of knowing and clever) women in most stories and most media. They always seem to be the 'I'll start screaming really loudly now; and carry on screaming until the hero slaps me or the villain kills me.' It gets somewhat tedious. Of course there are strong women in many media forms now - but somehow they're portrayed as being less than feminine if they're also strong.

I don't subscribe to that point of view. Haven't for almost 20 years now. But it took 20 years to get there. This is the tabby we have a timeshare in. We haven't seen her for about a week so it's possible that she's stayed indoors or that her owners have kept her inside because they're jealous of our relationship with her. We don't know. Still at least Dotty has the house to herself and when she's not mithering for something our relationship is wonderful and she can sleep on whatever surface she wants to. Feel a bit too left over to do much more writing. Will try to catch up next Friday - I did promise to do my Blog every week. And I would have done it last week, but for some reason, the Internet at my parents' house is like a Dead Zone. Getting a connection is almost impossible - all the lights are on, but as my Mum is so fond of saying 'The lights are on - but no-one's home."

s you might imagine, I don't subscribe to this point of view.
