Fourteenth Wedding Anniversary

I can't believe it's been fourteen years since Edwin and I got married! Fourteen years ago today at half past four, we were having our Wedding Breakfast at the Park House Hotel, Shifnal. Actually it was a beautiful day, but by this time I just wanted to get out of my dress and go to bed! Perhaps not the best reaction to one's Wedding! The Service was all right, the Vicar was a bit strange; but since we found out later that he had a brain tumour that might account for his odd behaviour. As I said on my Facebook page, it doesn't feel like fourteen years. Five, or ten maybe, but not fourteen. It feels very strange!

It is a weeknight, so we won't be going out to celebrate - but Edwin will get me a Chinese which will be a nice treat. With the fact that we're going on a short holiday next week, Edwin's trying to put a bit of money aside so we probably won't be going to Dudley Zoo to celebrate our anniversary. Never mind, it could be worse. There could be no celebration at all. It's been a strange fourteen years, some of it has been fun, although the deaths of two of our felines has marred the experience. I still find it hard to forgive Edwin for not letting Liquorice inside the minute she came down from the tree - and she ran into the road and was knocked over by a car. Dotty is very nice, but she's definitely Edwin's cat. He says that it's only because he feeds her, but there is more to it than that. She comes running to him for tummy tickes - not me. However, there is cat [who we've since learned is called Coco/Cocoa - we're not sure of the spelling] who seems to have adopted us. Still not sure how Dotty's taking it, we hear them chasing one another round the flat at night, but no hissing or spitting so we're not sure. We've rechristened this feline Tabby, and although someone said it was a male; we can't see the evidence. Maybe he's been done. Anyway, we now have two cats or appear to. I still think that Edwin should try and find out who it belongs to; and whether they want it back. Oh well. Because then we have to decide what to do about said cat - do we get insurance for it as well? Anyway, back to our Anniversary, a quiet night, yes, but I intend to do a bit of work and then settle down to watch Pierce Brosnan. Yes, I know. Die Another Day is not the best of the Bond films and the genetics to change someone from Asian to European is mind-boggling; but if you treat Bond himself (and the Franchise) as pure escapism, then its quite good fun.
